Gullak Season 1

Gullak Season 1

STORY: Place in a small city in North India, this collection is based around the middle-class Mishra family members and their daily struggles.

REVIEW: Early in the series, a clay piggy bank, that's the narrator (voiceover from Shivankit Singh Parihar) of this narrative describes --"Gullak isn't a narrative but a collection of anecdotes." True to its word, the show unfolds through varying occasions from the life span of this Mishras. There is the loving and amusing mother Shanti (Geetanjali Kulkarni) who seldom speaks without crying. Her endearing and forgiving husband Santosh (Jameel Khan) who functions in the local power branch.

The series is relatable and during its easy story, it demonstrates that this really is the narrative of almost any middle-class Indian household. Without a life-changing occasions, the Mishras wrestle with noisy washing machines, conflicts between the kins, complaints about the food (as an example, Shanti cooks'Tehri' for lunch, but all household members call it a'unsatisfactory yellowish aloo chawal') and neighborhood aunties (notably Bittu's mother played with Sunita Rajwar).

Because of Nikhil Vijay Motghare's straightforward writing, the show' humour is not laugh-out-loud. But, it will manage to keep a pleasing tone all around. The dialogues and the background continue reminding the viewers that it is about the normal life of ordinary men and women. Additionally, the history score by Anurag Saikia goes nicely with the story along with also the title track is hummable, also.

Furthermore, this play is laced with pitch-perfect performances by gifted Jameel Khan along with also a great Geetanjali Kulkarni, who erroneously declared couple words with extreme simplicity --such as invertor as inbertor. Her dialogue delivery and expressions really are outstanding. The vibrant Vaibhav Raj Gupta and Harsh Mayar are similar to any other sisters -- they can not stand one another and scan't live without one another too. It's wonderful to be about these four figures and watch them bond and combat together.

In general, this family play is not a laugh riot, but it is going to surely break up you and cause you to grin.
