Bridgerton Season 1

Bridgerton Season 1

STORY: A Regency romance series set in 19th century Britain, which sees two aristocratic households, the Brigdertons along with the Featheringtons, compete for its focus and suggestions, throughout the social period, since the debutantes needs to put their very best foot forward.

REVIEW: According to Julia Quinn's popular Regency romance books,'Bridgerton' takes us directly to where the activity is, since the show opens with all the Featherington women and Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) being corseted and coiffed due to their crucial debuts at the presence of Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel). When the Queen deigns to smile, then signals a successful introduction. And in addition, it ensures a beeline of all suitors from London's high society, wooing with flowers, presents and so on.

As for Daphnebeing a fantastic wife and a mom are of extreme significance, she has her heart set on finding the perfect suitor for himself. Her sole condition being that she would like to marry for love without having an arranged setup. Which, since she had been the preferred one by Queen Charlotte in her society debut, if happen to be a cakewalk. However, for her over-protective and hard-to-please old brother along with the eldest son, Viscount Bridgerton, Anthony (Johnathan Bailey), that believes nobody is good enough to get his sister, maintaining nearly every curious suitor at bay. They set up a act of becoming interested in one another, which functions both their pursuits. While the Duke, who has no intentions of marrying anybody, can stave off the interest of eager moms expecting to install their wives with him and of his well meaning protector, Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), Daphne could provoke new interest in certain suitors. But can they keep the particulars of their key arrangement from the prying eyes of Lady Whistledown (Julie Andrews), whose anonymous bulletins keep a tab on what that is going on in the background of London's high society. So much so that not only London the Queen is hooked, hanging on her every phrase and see.

'Bridgerton' serves up most of the Regency love principles - a lineup of contemporary balls, beautiful dresses, ribbons, mansions, carriages and castles. And it all doused with a thick dollop of gossip, scandals and secret romances like Anthony's rendezvous with his fan, Siena Rosso (Sabrina Bartlett), an opera singer and also the Featherington cousin, Marina Thompson's (Ruby Barker) hush hush affair, amongst others. Even though the remedy is racy, more and more explicit than that which you'd anticipate in a Regency romance. What sets it apart is that the diversity in casting the 19th century British high society out of Adjoa Andoh into Rege Jean Paige, Golda Rosheuvel, as aristocratic characters. And that's its main attraction.

Rene-Jean Paige together with his smouldering seems, is rather the heartthrob since the Duke of Hastings, Phoebe Dynevor gives the ideal balance of being delicate and decided and Adjoa Andoh stands out as Lady Danbury.

As a show,'Bridgerton' gets participating after the first couple of episodes, since the novelty of pearls and dresses wears off and the scandals and romances shoot over. And needless to say, Lady Whistledown adds that extra advantage and puzzle as the 19th century Gossip Girl!
